The Church in Indonesia – ‘The Mission Force!’
Last week we focused on the spiritual needs of Indonesia as a Mission Field.
This week, we continue to pray specifically for the Church in Indonesia, which can be a great Mission Force in Indonesia.
Christianity is Indonesia’s second-largest religion, after Islam.
Indonesia also has the second-largest Christian population in Southeast Asia after the Philippines,
Indonesia’s 29.4 million Christians constituted 10.47% of the country’s population in 2023, with 7.41% Protestant (20.8 million) and 3.06%
The Protestant population is significantly larger than the Catholic population, with the majority residing in the eastern part of the country. Major Protestant denominations include a large Pentecostal segment with many Churches and organizations.
The Assemblies of God (AG) in Indonesia, known as Gereja Sidang-Sidang Jemaat Allah (GSJA), is a significant Pentecostal denomination within the country.
This week we present special Prayer Requests for Indonesia presented by the AG General Superintendent Rev. Arif ArdanIa.
Young people represent an untapped potential for both the Harvest Field and the Harvest Force.

Around one-third of the population is under 18 years of age.
Pray for:
- Students in universities. They number 3.5 million in over 2,300 higher education institutions. A number of specialized agencies have extensive ministry on campuses.
- Islamic universities are rapidly growing in number and in influence. A significant minority of Indonesians study overseas, many in open nations – pray that they may be reached in other lands. Others are attracted by scholarships to study in Saudi Arabia.
- School children.
Forty percent of kids never make it to middle school. Many Christian organizations work together to bring the gospel to the children of Indonesia.
Many are at risk. Nearly three million are child labourers, often in dangerous jobs and, every year, thousands of others are trafficked for more nefarious purposes.
- New believers from a Muslim background, who often face rejection and persecution from their communities. They can also find it difficult to fit into Christian culture and churches. Pray for whole households to come to Christ, and to follow Christ within their own culture.

Prayer Requests for 3 main focuses of the AG Indonesia.
1. REVIVAL AMONG THE NEXT GENERATION:

- We are developing the ecosystem among our Churches and Organizations for the Next Generation to flourish and prepare new Leaders, Pastors, and Missionaries.

2. CHURCH PLANTING:

We have a goal to plant 650 new churches in 3 years!
- We empower Pastors and Leaders to revitalize in order to plant more Churches.
- We are targeting every District to mobilize Churches to start 1 new Church every Year!
- Please Pray for this endeavor.
3. NATIONAL MISSION CONFERENCE: SEPTEMBER 2025.

We plan to hold this in 3 large Cities in Indonesia.
- We are mobilizing all our Churches to be involved in Missions – from West to Eastern part of Indonesia.
- This is the first National Missions Conference to be held in 3 major Cities in Indonesia.
