Therefore Pray the Lord of the Harvest to send out laborers into His harvest - Matthew 9:38

There is heightened tension between the two neighboring nations of India and Pakistan, as there has been an escalation of attacks from both sides.

According to a report on ‘Crosswalk’: “Christian leaders throughout the world are urging the global church to pray for peace as tensions between India and Pakistan inch closer to all-out war. The decades-old rivalry between the two nuclear-armed countries reignited in recent days following a deadly terrorist attack in Indian-administered Kashmir that left more than two dozen civilians dead.”

According to a BBC Report:

“Two weeks after a deadly militant attack on tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir, India has launched a series of strikes on sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

The Indian defence ministry said the strikes – named “Operation Sindoor” – targeted what it called “terrorist infrastructure” to hold “accountable” those responsible for the 22 April attack in Pahalgam, which left 25 Indians and one Nepali national dead.

But Pakistan, which has denied any involvement in that attack, described the strikes as “unprovoked”,
Pakistan’s military said at least 31 people were killed and 57 injured in the strikes on Tuesday night. India’s army said at least 15 civilians were killed and 43 injured by Pakistani shelling on its side of the de facto border.

Kashmir is an area that is claimed in full by both India and Pakistan, but administered only in part by each since they were partitioned following independence from Britain in 1947.

The countries have fought two wars over it.

But more recently, it has been attacks by militants which have brought the two countries to the brink. Indian-administered Kashmir has seen an armed insurgency against Indian rule since 1989, with militants targeting security forces and civilians alike.

We request you to pray earnestly for the following:

  1. Pray that God will supernaturally intervene to bring this conflict to an end, bringing peace.

‘He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. ‘ Isaiah 2:4

  • Pray for the Leaders of both Nations that they will work towards a peaceful solution.
‘I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, ‘  1 Timothy 2:1-3.
  • Pray for the International community to intervene in peace-making.
‘ Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. ‘Matthew 5:9
  • Pray that there will be no more bloodshed and loss of lives.
“Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father As well as the soul of the son is Mine;  ‘Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?’ says the Lord God , ‘and not that he should turn from his ways and live?’  Ezekiel 18:23
  • Pray that hostilities will cease and there will be goodwill and peace among both nations in the future.
‘Come and see what the Lord has done… He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. ‘  Psalms 46:8-9

Thank you for Praying!
